Pancreatic Cysts

Pancreatic cysts are a common incidental finding on imaging tests. Small cysts are usually entirely asymptomatic and may not require further action or investigation. Larger cysts may require repeat or further imaging and assessment. The majority are entirely benign.

Pancreatic pseudocysts that arise following an episode of acute pancreatits often require drainage, either via a cystogastrostomy,( the stomach) the skin, or much less commonly open surgery.
