Baclofen

Baclofen is rarely used, because it has significant side effects and is not generally effective (nor does it have a license for use in reflux in the UK) but on occasion can be useful for patients experiencing volume reflux who do not wish to  undergo or are not fit for surgery. Baclofen is thought to work on GABA receptors. It is believed baclofen work. These are similar to the  receptor involved in muscle inhibition and in inducing sleep. Baclofen may have significant side-effects which include, drowsiness, confusion and nightmares.
